Frequently asked questions
What is a Typical Class like?
A typical class starts with warming up our muscles and stretching on gymnastic mats. We then learn and practice moves on a stationary barrel, before moving to the horse. We spend most of class time on the barrel, so that our horse is safe from injury and overwork. Class ends with clean up of equipment and horse care.
What if the Weather is Bad?
If the weather or footing is bad, we will hold a barrel only practice under the 'A' Barn roof so we stay dry and comfortable.

Is Vaulting Safe?
Vaulting is the safest of the equestrian sports, documented safer than riding bicycles, playing on playground equipment, and even playing soccer, according to the Equestrian Vaulting USA Association.
Beginning vaulters first learn general and horse safety, progress to practicing their moves on a stationary padded barrel.
Once vaulters are comfortable with their moves on a barrel, they progress to a horse moving at a walk, with a spotter right beside them.
